Food and medicine distributed to the remote community of Yarina in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
Emerito, 72, diagnosed with TB has been supported by AP for his testing, treatment, transport to hospital, food and provision of adequate bedding.
AP educational program Soy Capaz along with partner AHF (AIDS Healthcare Foundation), provided food distribution to families and individuals living with HIV in Iquitos.

Completion of a rainwater catchment system that now provides clean drinking water to the remote Amazonian community of Tapirillo, making this the 15th clean water system built with our EWB (Engineers Without Borders) partners since 2014!
Thank you to Jose Luis Valles, Amazon Promise Special Projects Manager, for his continued dedication and drive to bring clean drinking water to the people of Peru.
Adriana Calizaya, Amazon Promise patient advocate, has been on the ground assisting residents of Iquitos and remote communities. She manages all of our Covid relief efforts, including the coordination of medical care for those arriving at our door seeking help each day.
We are thankful for their tireless dedication.
Road to recovery…
Adrian, age 7, was brought to us July 28th from the village of San Jose after falling into a hole and fracturing his leg.
Amazon Promise provided surgical pins, IV & cast supplies, as well as financial support for his mother to accompany him.
He is just one of many patients to date in 2021 who have requested and received aid at our Iquitos office.

AP Peru Staff members are getting vaccinated!
At this time, Peru is administering Covid Vaccines to those age 40 and over. Many of our Peruvian staff are already vaccinated.
Amazon Promise chef Nancy Bardales suffered from Covid-19 this year; she is relieved to finally be vaccinated!
Volunteer – Medical Outreach Trips
Volunteers may participate in one or two weeks of any medical expedition except for the remote trips into indigenous communities of the Pastaza or Sarameriza (two week commitment). Non-medical volunteers are also welcome!
